In a follow-up to a previous insider report, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision gets ready to announce their annual Call of Duty release in coming months, which will be a sequel to 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot.
Infinity Ward already confirms working on Modern Warfare sequel along with Warzone Chapter 2 earlier in February 2022. At first quarter 2022 financial results, Activision promises to reveal a new Call of Duty: Warzone for later this year.
Activision officially announced to reveal a new Warzone experience at Q2 2022 financial results. Infinity Ward has built their newest iteration of free-to-play Battle Royale from ground-up using a new engine alongside Call of Duty for 2022.
In first quarter of 2022, internal studios have made some extensive gameplay improvements for Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone. Activision states that development for this year's CoD and Warzone is going pretty well at Infinity Ward.
Also, rebooted sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare will be most advanced Call of Duty experience in series history. Sources claims that MW2 campaign will focus on a drug war against Columbian cartels, as a grittier take on 2019 MW reboot.
Activision has been referring new Call of Duty: Warzone as a "new experience", not explaining if it will be a new release or just a major update. Meanwhile, Infinity Ward begins to tease players of their upcoming MW2 launch by going dark.
