Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 to Get Free Next-Gen Upgrade
Capcom will release PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 soon, with free updates for players who own a copy.

Earlier last year, industry leaker AestheticGamer1 claimed that developer/publisher Capcom was reportedly working on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of 2017 survival horror game Resident Evil 7 to launch very soon.
In a recent announcement on social media, Capcom confirms to deliver next-gen upgrade for remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3 and Resident Evil 7 is launching to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later this year, including a patch for PC as well.
People who already have PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Resident Evil 2, 3 Remakes and Resident Evil 7 on will receive a free update but any further detail regarding features for next-gen versions were not confirmed yet.
Capcom only mentions of "visual enhancements" for new-gen console versions and Resident Evil series fans can possibly expect to get higher frame rates, 3D enhanced audio, ray-tracing support and DualSense controller options.

Anyone who previously bought Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 for last-generation consoles can still enjoy these titles on PlayStation 5 and Series X/S systems using backwards compatibility for faster loading and accelerated frame rates.
Capcom is reportedly working on a modern-day remake of Resident Evil 4, which will soon be revealed this year. An insider report claims, dev team is currently working on Resident Evil 9 since late 2018 and won't launch until 2024.
