Elden Ring Becomes Best-Selling Game of 2022 in US

Living up to years of fan-expectations, 2022 action role-playing game Elden Ring by developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment receives critical-acclaim at launch across all major platform throughout the world.

Aside from trending on social media sites, From Software's latest Soulsborne adventure Elden Ring has already become best-selling game of 2022 in U.S., leaving behind games like Horizon Forbidden West and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella reports, Elden Ring is currently best-selling game of ongoing month as well as year 2022 to date. It is also fifth best-selling title after Call of Duty: Vanguard in a 12-month period ending on February 2022.

Elden Ring was fastest-selling Souls-like game in UK boxed sales history, beating sales numbers of Dark Souls at launch. It had biggest UK launch for a non-Call of Duty or FIFA game since Red Dead Redemption 2 by Rockstar Games in 2018.

PlayStation-exclusive title Forbidden West was overall second best-selling game last month in United States. However, it came second to Elden Ring in Europe and US when it comes to PS5 top downloads at PlayStation Store for February.

Elden Ring is leading US retail charts in terms of total dollar sales and units shipped, according to market research firm NPD Group. Despite some performance issues on PC, it reached sixth all-time highest player count on Steam at launch.
