Last week on Valentine's Day, developer/publisher Capcom launched a teaser website with an ongoing countdown for an unannounced project, which was rumored to be next entry in long-running fighting game franchise Street Fighter.
After closing of Capcom Pro Tour fighting game exhibition today, Capcom officially announces Street Fighter 6 and revealed an anthology of 10 classic fighting games titled Capcom Fighting Collection, teasing to reveal more this summer.
Capcom released a teaser trailer for upcoming Street Fighter 6, featuring Ryu and newcomer Luke as well.
Newly revealed Street Fighter 6 teaser trailer shows a much-bulkier and redesigned Ryu going up against Luke, latest addition to franchise roster and final DLC character for Street Fighter V, introduced in Season 5 via Spring Update 2021.
Street Fighter franchise is celebrating 35th anniversary this year and Capcom is honoring their legacy with Capcom Fighting Collection, a definitive bundle including entire Darkstalker series with extra online features and rollback netcode.
Darkstalkers series fans gets to play two titles previously exclusive to Japan; Vampire Hunter 2 as well as Vampire Savior 2. Capcom Collection introduces Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness and Red Earth on modern-day console for first time.
Capcom Fighting Collection comes to Nintendo Switch, PC/Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 24, 2022. Additional enhanced upgrades and quality of life improvements will include ranked, casual and custom matches for all titles.
Capcom mostly received a lukewarm response on Street Fighter V release for PC and PS4 back in 2016. An updated version, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition came out a year later and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is launched earlier.
Street Fighter 6 didn't have an official release window yet but may end up arriving in Q3 2022, according to previous leaks. Capcom is also reportedly developing Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter 6, Resident Evil 4 Remake and lots more.
