Just yesterday, 2022 beat 'em up action-adventure game Sifu by developer/publisher Sloclap came out across PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, receiving positive reviews from critics and players alike.
Sloclap's latest release doesn't feature a multiplayer component, nor do they have any plan to include it later on. However, Sifu dev team is apparently working on some sort of post-launch DLC content update to release soon in future.
In a recent interview, Sloclap marketing manager Félix Garczynski confirms their latest project will remain a single-player experience. Nevertheless, they have further plans for Sifu and you can expect to receive some DLC update soon.
Due to being an independent studio with limited means, Sloclap mainly focused on developing a quality single-player adventure. They never had plans for multiplayer mode but are working to deliver additional content for post-release.
Garczynski offered no detail regarding post-launch releases but many would love to see some difficulty options. Moreover, it could be a story expansion, new cosmetic items, features and even a New Game Plus mode for replayability.
Sifu had a broken Early Access experience on PlayStation consoles, which was eventually fixed by Sony. Sloclap has yet to reveal whether they will add any difficulty settings, as it was teased by executive producer Pierre Tarno previously.
