Sifu Update to Add Better Captions, Difficulty Modes and More |
In less than a week, newly released third-person beat 'em up action-adventure game Sifu by developer/publisher Sloclap amassed more than half a million players on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and 5 console platforms.
Sifu could be a brutal experience for any casual gamer and a lot of players have been asking Sloclap to make it a little bit more accessible. However, a newest report claims that they will soon be addressing many of these concerns.
A report by Can I Play That? website and shared by accessibility advocate Steve Saylor claims, dev team will include a number of accessibility options for Sifu through post-launch updates, adding some of the most-requested features.
Upcoming slate of updates will be adding difficulty modes, letting players to make it easier or harder according to preference. Further accessibility options include better captions, probably translates background noise and sound to text.
In a recent social media post, Steve Saylor reveals a few accessibility options that are coming to Sifu shortly.
Hey! So it's weird I get to help break news but yes #Sifu is getting #accessibility updates post-launch.

- Better captions
- High Contrast Mode on PS4/5 (was on PC, but not PS4/5 at launch due to a bug)
- Difficulty Modes. Both easier & harder, similar to Metroid Dread's update. https://t.co/9pFTOmfvnR
There is a High Contrast mode on PC version but it was barred to be on PS4 and 5 by a bug at release. Sifu has a steep learning curve that wants you to adapt and a lack of accessibility will prevent many from experiencing its greatness.
Sifu already comes with a bunch of accessibility features like brightness adjustments, camera controls, subtitles and more. Nevertheless, introducing a host of new settings will make it an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.
