Overwatch 2 Developer Update May Be Teasing Beta Release |
Although originally scheduled for 2021 release, developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment decided to delay both Diablo VI and Overwatch 2 from their previous launch window, during fourth quarter earnings call, earlier last year.
Fans have been waiting for news regarding development of Overwatch sequel since official announcement and a latest update for Battle.net launcher maybe hinting at a playable Beta version of Overwatch 2 will be revealed soon.
Keeping track of Blizzard game versions, fan-website Blizztrack recently finds new builds and patch notes on Battle.net that hints at developer team are currently preparing for something big like a Beta test or demo for Overwatch 2.
Twitter account for Overwatch Cavalry also confirms that Blizzard has uploaded "Overwatch Demo 2 build 1.50.0.0.93186" to Battle.net launcher a day ago, which possibly suggests that players may get their hands on it pretty soon.

Blizzard previously invited several Overwatch content creators to "secret meetings", likely to get exclusive behind-the-scenes look at OW2. They didn't reveal much due to non-disclosure agreement but were quite excited for sequel.
Overwatch 2 will include new heroes, customizable abilities, campaign with co-operative play and much more. Blizzard is likely to expand exiting roster of 32 playable characters with new recruits and make some changes to gameplay.
