A latest entry into "Soulsborne" genre, 2022 action role-playing game Elden Ring by developer From Software and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment is already out on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Raking millions of players across all platforms at release, Elden Ring is getting review-bombed on Steam by PC players. Most of them are upset because of a series of issues at hand, notably frame rate issues and poor PC optimizations.
Elden Ring currently has over 9,000 negative reviews on Steam by a group of angry PC players despite critical-acclaim. These feedbacks are a result of frame rates stuttering and the game's performance issues even on high-end set-up.
Players have complained about experiencing huge frame rate drops and non-stop stuttering at opening hours of Elden Ring. Some are reportedly struggling to maintain a stable 60fps/1080p on PC setting powered by GeForce RTX 3080.
Aside from poor optimization, some PC players are very disappointed for not having any ultra-widescreen support. People who don't even care for FPS are facing heavy stuttering issues on PCs above recommend settings, which is sad.
Elden Ring console version apparently offers a better experience than PC port but there could be occasional technical issues. Players who faced stuttering in open-world areas, had a better chance playing within close-quarter locations.
