Although video game adaptations often turn into utter disaster, online streaming giant Netflix was actually successful in making a well-received television show on The Witcher, inspired by fantasy novels of author Andrzej Sapkowski.
Netflix has premiered Season 2 for The Witcher TV series last mother and it sees an immediate rise in current player-count for 2015 action role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt across major platforms almost at once afterwards.
According to Steam Charts analytics site, The Witcher 3 recently sees a sudden spike of player-number up to 71,000 daily. Netflix's The Witcher Season 1 premiere raked in over 50K players, even leaving Red Dead Redemption 2 behind.
Despite reaching a new height of Steam player count, The Witcher 3 has yet to beat its peak at 2015 launch day of 92,268 players. Moreover, numbers from platforms like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox should also be included.
TW3: Wild Hunt has many fun Easter eggs and references to Netflix show that many new and returning audiences will appreciate. Season 2 of The Witcher already teased at Wild Hunt event and will most likely introduce it in Season 3.
For a game that is over five years old, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to shows its impact on fans, without a multiplayer mode. Many people are likely coming back to revisit TW3 after watching Season 2 or just picking it up anew.
