Few months before officially announcing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, developer/publisher Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive took down a couple of fan-created mods for classic GTA games.
Rockstar and Grove Street Games have recently apologized to fans for such a disastrous launch and promised to fix major issues. Meanwhile, a talented modder has taken it upon themselves to improve Definitive Edition of San Andreas.
Modder nigeez is currently working on Project: Texture Overhaul mod that will replace textures for PC version of GTA: San Andreas. It won't change all textures of San Andreas but will enhance appearance for the most notable ones so far.
Project: Texture Overhaul mod adds new asphalt texture for main roads and pavements around Los Santos and San Fierro. Others surfaces include new concrete, dirt, mud, rock and sand in a total of 85 new textures for ongoing project.

Rockstar faces heavy backlash following release of Grand Theft Auto: Remastered Trilogy earlier this month. Modders already started fixing major issues in all three games of Definitive Edition before an official response came from them.
Dedicated modders like nigeez and many other are doing an impressive work to improve overall GTA Trilogy experience. These community mods can actually help fix majority of shortcomings until Rockstar even starts rolling out patches.
Some insiders even claimed that Rockstar has pulled internal developers to resolve these issues regarding GTA Trilogy. If rumors are accurate, then upcoming Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online updates may be delayed as well.
GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition was plagued with glitches and performance issues at launch that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive may have ignored willingly, just so they can launch it somehow before 20th anniversary of GTA III.
