A long-running rumor mill was confirmed earlier this month when developer/publisher Rockstar Games officially announces Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to release on mobiles and major gaming platforms in 2021.
Although it was implied that upcoming Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy will be exclusive to Rockstar Games Launcher for PC, some newly emerged leak suggests a very possible release for Steam has also been planned by Rockstar.
A reputable Rockstar Games insider known as Tez2 has recently discovered data that hints at a Steam release of GTA trilogy. Evidence that supports this claim found on SteamDB was shared on GTAForums and on social media platforms.
Rockstar Games originally had no mention of a Steam version on official press release and only stated to remove all existing version from digital outlets, causing fans to believe GTA trilogy will be an exclusive to Rockstar's own PC launcher.
Even though newfound server files and related Steam IDs are a clear sign for Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy coming to PC via Steam at some point, fans are still hoping to get an official confirmation from Rockstar Games to be sure.
Rockstar may have plans to launch GTA Remastered Trilogy as a timed-exclusive for their own storefront before eventually coming to Epic Games Store and Steam, just like how they handled PC version release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Shorty after assuming that GTA Trilogy Remaster may be exclusive to Rockstar Games Launcher for PC, players who advocate for game preservation begins rallying online to voice their protest against such decision by publishing company.
Series fans even tried to encourage players by leaving positive review on Steam to get a copy of original versions before delisting. Although scheduled to be removed in a week, GTA trilogy is still up on Steam but unavailable for purchase.
GTA Trilogy Remaster includes enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Rockstar Games have yet to reveal more details ahead of 20th anniversary of GTA 3 later this month.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is expected to arrive for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in late 2021, followed by mobile release next year for Android and iOS devices.
