A long-rumored Batman game titled "Gotham Knights" was revealed last year by developer WB Games Montréal and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, based on "Batman: The Court of Owls" storyline for major platforms.
Earlier this month, WB Games started teasing another showcase this year at DC FanDome 2021 digital event. An official trailer was leaked ahead of scheduled time and removed quickly before it was finally revealed during today's stream.
A brand-new story trailer for Gotham Knights teases a mysterious plot premise during DC FanDome event.
Even though Batman is reportedly dead and Jim Gordon is seemingly gone, Gotham City is not left without its protectors. Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin have stepped up in stopping crime and protect its inhabitants at any cost.
Bat-Family eventually learns about shadowy organization The Court of Owls and their activities in Gotham for years. Nightwing pays a visit to Penguin at Iceberg Lounge to investigate only to be warned about their connection and reach.
As they starts digging deep, Bat-Family members uncover a generation-long mystery and gets ambushed by Talon assassins across various locations of Gotham City, revealing that they have been watching from shadows for a long time.
Dev team has expanded upon Court of Owls story arc and has added depths to it for upcoming action role-playing game. Other than regular Talons, there is a Hulking variant and Runner-type that are likely to be reserved for boss-battles.
WB Games also showed an interview footage featuring Court of Owls creator Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.
Regardless of having worked on Batman: Arkham Origins in past, WB Games Montréal wants to move away from Arkham-style combat and even revealed a walkthrough highlighting gameplay in an interactive open-world of Gotham City.
Gotham Knights was previously set to arrive this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Back in March 2021, Warner Bros. Interactive announces to delay their newest AAA-game through 2022.
