Daredevil Game Rumor Renewed Again by Skydance Announcement |
After a surprise announcement of upcoming PlayStation 5-exclusive title Marvel's Wolverine at PlayStation Showcase 2021 digital event last month, a previous rumor for a potential Daredevil game became relevant among fans once again.
Marvel Entertainment has recently revealed a partnership with Skydance Media for brand-new video game project helmed by former Uncharted director Amy Hennig, which renewed a rumor from last year regarding a new Daredevil game.
Skydance Media has given no clue on which iconic Marvel hero will they be focusing on for their first AAA-project yet. However, fans are assuming the character to be Daredevil and referring to an early leak, which surfaced on 4chan boards.
That same leak has accurately predicted a Wolverine game is being in works ahead of its reveal by developer Insomniac Games. Similarly, a Daredevil game is very possibly under early stage of development, according to same leak sources.
Marvel's Daredevil is reportedly taking inspiration from Batman: Arkham series and be a lot like Marvel's Spider-Man. Oddly enough, he will be seen patrolling the streets of Chicago instead of New York City, in "noir-style detective" setting.
Daredevil and his alter ego, blind attorney Matt Murdock leaving his base of operation at Hell's Kitchen in favor of Chicago don't seem right. Some fans even compared it to making a Batman game based in Central City instead of Gotham.
Although there have been no confirmation on whether Marvel and Skydance is actually working on a Daredevil game, Matt Murdock traversing through an open-world of Hell's Kitchen aligns a lot with what Henning did in Uncharted series.
Marvel bringing more of their beloved IPs for video adaptation is great news for fans and latest rumors teasing return of live-action Daredevil series only hints at a correct time for announcing a new game focused on The Man Without Fear.
