Dying Light 2 Delayed Again, Coming in February 2022

Up until now, upcoming first-person survival horror game Dying Light 2 by developer/publisher Techland was scheduled to release globally for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S platforms on December 7, 2021.

In a recent announcement on social media, Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka officially revealed that Dying Light 2 will not be launching on its previously planned date while apologizing to fans and have now been moved to February 4, 2022.

Original release date for Dying Light 2 was set only a day before hotly-anticipated Xbox Series X launch title Halo Infinite on December 8, 2021. It is highly likely that Techland has delayed DL2 to avoid competition with a Microsoft-exclusive.

Techland however, has cited this untimely delay as necessary to ensure a stable release without having to compromise on quality. Postponing release to a few more weeks will allow dev team to further polish and optimize Dying Light sequel.

Paweł Marchewka of Polish studio Techland shared an update regarding Dying Light 2 delay on Twitter recently.

Marchewka also added that preview builds of Dying Light 2 for console and PC will soon be sent out to various reviewers next month. Although still under active development, DL2 is very much likely to be in an "almost finished" condition now.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is now set to launch for PC and cross-generation console platforms on February 4, 2022. Following departure of writer Chris Avellone because of sexual harassment allegations, development was disrupted last year.
