Back in 2019, Austrian video game publisher THQ Nordic confirmed a brand-new Saints Row game being in development at Volition studio in Q1 financial results along with acquisition of Gunfire Games and future plans for TimeSplitters.
Ahead of upcoming Opening Night Live event for Gamescom 2021, host Geoff Keighley posts a new video on social media that possibly teases at a possible Saints Row reboot or sequel to be revealed on August 25, 10:30 AM PT/1:30 PM ET.
Keighley shared a video on Twitter featuring a graffiti of the word "rebooting" and Fleur-de-lis symbol from Saints Row series. Shortly afterwards, Saints Row official Twitter account changes their cover photo with same "Rebooting" image.
He also mentioned about "Bossing it" in caption, a reference to player character who is often called as "The Boss" throughout series. A link in his Tweet takes you directly to SaintsRow.com, which has now been updated with same artwork.

Volition has released last Saints Row game nearly a decade ago and Saints Row 4: Re-Elected took things to a new extreme with inclusion of aliens, superpowers and more, which may have been too difficult to directly follow-up at present.
However, long-time series fans won't have to wait much longer to find out where Volition is heading with next Saints Row game. A new trailer will soon be revealed at Opening Night Live, showing modern-day reboot of Saints Row series.
