Focus Home Interactive Acquires DotEmu
An official statement from Focus Home Interactive reveals a buyout of DotEmu, acclaimed studio behind Streets of Rage 4.

In a recent case of studio buyout within industry, French video game developer/publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced to have acquired leading European studio DotEmu, according to a press release from official website.
Focus Home has reportedly signed a contract with Paris-based studio DotEmu to buy out 77.5% of their share capital worth $45.5 million, in order to further expand their development assets to be a global pioneer in gaming sector.
In recent years, DotEmu has showcased capability of their team by reviving 90's Streets of Rage series for major gaming platforms. Streets of Rage 4 ended up selling over 2.5 million copies on launch and had a 17.17 million turnover.
DotEmu is currently working on upcoming side-scrolling brawler Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and a revival of classic run and gun franchise Metal Slug as an action turn-based RPG tactics title Metal Slug Tactics.
CEO of Focus Home Interactive, Christophe Nobileau released a statement about their future plans with DotEmu.
The arrival of Dotemu marks a key step in the acceleration of the Group's growth and in the diversification of its expertise. By enriching our editorial line, we are opening up a new revenue stream and new market shares to conquer in a fast-growing sector.
Focus Home Interactive has spent a hefty sum of money in DotEmu to diversify their company resume and improve their editorial line. Earlier in April 2021, Focus Home acquired Space Hulk: Deathwing developer Streum On Studio.
Cyrille Imbert, CEO of DotEmu believes forming a partnership with Focus Home will help them achieve ambitious goals in near future. They are also planning to team up for loads of AA titles, remakes and sequels to triple their income.
