Dead Space Remake May Reportedly Release in Late 2022 |
After a month of rumors and speculation, a remake of 2008 sci-fi horror game Dead Space was revealed by developer Motive Studios and publisher Electronic Arts earlier at EA Play Live 2021 show for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Given its current status of being in early development phase, no definitive launch window has been given by EA yet. However, an insider claims that Dead Space Remake may be releasing by late 2022, if everything goes according to plan.
A recent report on VentureBeat by journalist Jeff Grubb states that fans can expect to get their hands on Dead Space in fall of 2022. He notes that Electronic Arts is planning to showcase more of upcoming remake project by end of this year.
There is no clear hint at what EA and Motive would be revealing later this year but it could be a trailer at The Game Awards 2021. Series fans should take things with a grain of salt until official Dead Space Remake release plans are confirmed.
Jeff Grubb reached out to EA for comment and a spokesperson has responded with following statement.
We haven't shared a release date for the game, and we don't have any comment based on the current rumor and speculation. But we're glad people are excited for the game!
Despite official sources being vague as usual, Jeff Grubb claims that EA is internally preparing to release Dead Space by its 2023 fiscal year. It won't show up in any financial reports before early 2022 and more will be revealed by then already.
EA and Motive Studios is developing Dead Space Remake for PC and current-gen consoles only, skipping last-gen systems. This only implies that their ground-up build for new Dead Space will take full advantage of new hardware generation.
