It was about time for developer Gunfire Games and publisher THQ Nordic to finally bring 2018 action role-playing game Darksiders III to Nintendo Switch console since first two entries have already made their debut on handheld in 2019.
THQ Nordic has officially announced to release Darksiders 3 for Switch on September 30, 2021. Both digital and physical copies will be available at stores for a retail price of 39.99 only, which includes Keepers of the Void and Crucible DLC.
Darksiders III introduces third Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Fury and she is called upon by The Charred Council from high haven to take down Seven Deadly Sins as she embarks an adventure quest to restore order on an apocalyptic Earth.
Being a mage, Fury is unlike her brother War and Death in terms of her abilities and gameplay style. Her power slowly evolves and she wields a powerful bladed whip Scorn that cuts through any other-worldly enemies that comes her way.
A retail listing leak on a Russian outlet in July has kick-started a rumor for Switch version of D3. Though players on Switch are getting their hands on third Darksiders game a bit late, they can now play its base game and both DLCs at once.
Darksiders III originally launched across PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to mix fan-reaction due to gameplay changes and technical issues. Though some fans hated Gunfire Games' approach, many actually loved its more Soulslike playstyle.
