According to early reports, annual Call of Duty entry for this year was originally rumored to be titled "WW2 Vanguard". A new datamine leak from last week allegedly reveals on Twitter that Call of Duty 2021 is simply called "Vanguard".
Now that the cat is already out of the bag, publisher Activision has started teasing Call of Duty: Vanguard through in-game cinematic teasers from free-to-play battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone ahead of its official reveal very soon.
YouTube channel AJ21&Family has uploaded a clip of Call of Duty: Warzone victory cut-scene teasing "Vanguard".
As ongoing Season 5 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has gone live earlier, a new victory scene is added, which shows last player of a team gets shot during extraction by an unknown assailant in World War II-era uniform.
Latest footage showing up in Warzone victory royale celebration teases Call of Duty: Vanguard features a red-haired woman in Soviet outfit. Her garb and old-school sniper rifle hints at next Call of Duty game that takes place during WWII.
Her overall appearance clearly resembles to a character from early leaked images of Vanguard, possibly named Polina. Newest teaser for Vanguard has also been shared by Call of Duty writer Sam Maggs on Twitter, with a caption "Atta girl".
Activision and Sledgehammer Games to reportedly announce Call of Duty: Vanguard on August 19, 2021. Treyarch is apparently developing its Zombies mode and a planned release on PC and cross-gen consoles is set for November 5, 2021.
