After weeks of ongoing reports and rumors, fans of action-adventure title Ghost of Tsushima by developer Sucker Punch Productions and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment were hoping to get some official confirmation for a while.
Only a day ago, rating for Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut was found listed on Entertainment Software Ratings Board official website, which Sucker Punch has revealed today for August 20, 2021 release on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.

Ahead of one-year anniversary, Ghost of Tsushima dev team also announces to Jin Sakai's story by adding a new chapter through Iki Island expansion, a bunch of anticipated new features and updates for upcoming Director's Cut edition.
Reportedly titled Ghost of Ikishima was said to be a standalone DLC expansion to original base game. Sucker Punch only confirms to add new armor, characters, enemy types, environments, and much more to its latest piece of content.
After taking care of Mongol invaders in Tsushima, Jin travels to its nearby island of Iki to see if there are more of them. However, he eventually gets caught up in ongoing events and is forced to relive through some past trauma of his life.
Aside from Iki Island expansion, Director's Cut brings a number of PS5-exclusive features such as adaptive triggers, advanced haptic feedback and 3D audio enhancements while running at 60 FPS, in 4K resolution with improved load times.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut will be available at PlayStation Store or retailers for $59.99 on PS4 and $69.99 on PS5. Pre-order bonuses include a digital artbook, original mini soundtracks, concept art for Iki Island and two new songs.
Those who already own a copy of Ghost of Tsushima can buy Director's Cut upgrade on PS4 for $19.99 and on PS5 for $29.99 only. Players can upgrade PS4 version of Tsushima: Director's Cut to PlayStation 5 version at a low price of 9.99.

Players on PS4 and 5 get to unlock several new Trophies when Director's Cut content Iki Island expansion arrives in August. If you already have played Ghost of Tsushima on PS4, then you can also transfer your saves to PS5 and continue.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut will be adding lip sync with Japanese voice over for cinematic cut-scenes. All current players will be receiving a patch that includes a few accessibility options, gameplay tweaks and all-new Legends mode.
Looks like recent change of box cover art and rumor from XboxERA co-founder Shpeshal_Nick of an expansion wasn't wrong after all. Sony and Sucker Punch are likely to reveal more detail of Director's Cut on State of Play later in July.
