About a year ago, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Mad Dog Games released a Game of the Year Edition for co-op zombie survival shooter title World War Z on for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
WWZ has over a staggering 15 million players now and today, Saber Interactive has announced an enhanced upgraded version titled World War Z: Aftermath for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles at Summer of Gaming 2021 event.
An official trailer released for World War Z: Aftermath highlights freshly added contents and new features.
Aftermath brings ultimate zombie-killing experience to next-gen consoles, will be running in 60 FPS at 4K resolution on PS5 and Series X/S. Encounter massive crowd of zombies you have seen ever before, thanks to latest Horde Mode XL.
Newest content includes a first-person mode for an intense experience and unique perspective. Aside from Dronemaster, Exterminator, Fixer, Gunslinger, Hellraiser, Medic and Slasher, all-new Vanguard class with unique perks coming soon.
Some changes were made to melee combat system by letting players use dual-wield weapons like a cleaver and a sickle. These swinging moves will come in handy against undead army and huge swarms of infected rats chasing at you.
Players can go back to explore old maps or visit newly added story locations in Rome, Vatican City and Kamchatka peninsula of Russia. Whether you play with AI teammates or friends, cross-play will be fully available on PC and consoles.
Though original retail price for WWZ: Aftermath is $39.99 only, people who already has a copy can upgrade to next-gen for just $19.99. Deluxe Edition bundled with additional goodies costs $49.99 for new or $29.99 to previous buyers.
World War Z: Aftermath introduces upgrades for next-gen and includes everything from World War Z: GOTY Edition. Aftermath is expected to launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One this year with backwards compatibility for PS5 and Series X.
