Shin Megami Tensei V Gameplay and Release Date Revealed |
Earlier this month, a launch date and story details of upcoming Nintendo Switch-exclusive role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei V from developer/publisher Atlus was accidentally leaked via official website before it was quickly taken down.
That same leak has now been confirmed by a new trailer released by Atlus today during latest Nintendo Direct E3 2021 presentation and their highly-anticipated JRPG title SMTV is currently all set to arrive for Switch on November 12, 2021.
Atlus finally reveals a gameplay trailer and official release date for Shin Megami Tensei V on Nintendo Switch.
A high school student walks into an alternate dimension, which is a post-apocalyptic version of Tokyo called Da'ath. There a mysterious entity merges with "hero" character and together they become a forbidden being known as "Naobino".
Newest gameplay trailer for SMTV gives you a preview of its plot setting and a bit of turn-based fighting mechanics. In a conflict between Angels and Demons, you can recruit some enemies as your companions through a negotiation system.
Funnily enough, some SMT series fans are asking for a PlayStation 4 or 5 port of SMTV on Atlus and Sega's social media pages. In near future, Shin Megami Tensei V may be released on PC and consoles once its exclusivity to Switch runs out.
Though some fans are still disappointed for no Persona 5 port on Switch after protagonist Joker was added as first DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, they have much to look forward to in future with SMTV and Shin Megami Tensei III.
Nintendo Switch players can place their pre-orders for SMT5 physical version starting from June 21, 2021. A limited edition "Forbidden Nahobino BOX" will also become available to purchase in Japan that includes bonus contents and goodies.
Shin Megami Tensei V limited edition box comes bundled with base game, hardcover artbook, 35 series medley and mini-soundtracks in 2 CDs. Collectors are to receive hero-themed Naobino t-shirt as well as a special "Tree of Wisdom" case.
Nintendo Treehouse live has showcased additional 20-minute long gameplay footage for series fans. Also check out Japanese promotional video on Atlus' official YouTube channel featuring an exclusive clip excluded in Nintendo Direct 2021.
It was previously announced in Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase back in July 2020 that SMTV to have a concurrent global launch. Shin Megami Tensei 5 will release on November 11 for Japan and worldwide on November 11, 2021.
