We are at the end of ongoing month of May 2021 and Sony Interactive Entertainment has yet to announce upcoming lineup of PlayStation Plus free games for next month but a recent leak already reveals what they have in store for June.
Although there is no official confirmation yet, PS Plus games for June 2021 to reportedly include Star Wars: Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown and Operation: Tango, according to a new report on Spanish gaming site Areajugones.
Electronic Arts is working on a number of Star Wars projects currently and they probably wants to renew player interest before revealing their upcoming game set within Star Wars universe at EA Play or just wants to increase player numbers.
Often times, leaks like these doesn't pan out in the end but Areajugones previously suggested Battlefield V, Stranded Deep and Wreckfest will be added to PS Plus free games library for May accurately before Sony's official announcement.
Sony is focusing more on improving their online services following release of PlayStation 5 next-gen consoles last year and therefore, bringing SW: Squadrons on PlayStation Plus as a freebie in just less than a year after its launch makes sense.
PlayStation Plus lineup of free games usually gets revealed by Sony on last Wednesday of every month and eager players won't have to wait for long to find out whether Areajugones was able to successfully predict PS Plus leak for June or not.
