In a bid to compete with popular PC outlet Steam, brand-new digital distribution storefront Epic Games Store took off back in 2018 and parent company Epic Games started giving away free PC games each week in an ongoing campaign.
Epic Store is scheduled to offer PC version of open-world adventure game Pine this week in a very limited time giveaway until May 13, 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM EDT, which anyone with a free account can grab a copy of to keep forever.
An indie project that launched off a successful Kickstarter campaign by developer Twirlbound and publisher Kongregate, players explore a simulated world as member of a human tribe who tries to survive various other species in Pine.
Adapting an animation style similar to Ice Age film franchise, your playable character will come across and interact with many creatures. Throughout six biomes, he will either join forces with allied fractions or fight off crowd of hostiles.
Pine depicts an alternate reality set in Albamare where humankind didn't reach the top of food chain unfortunately. Playing as main character Hue, players get to explore, survive and trade for living in a beautiful world of natural diversity.
For upcoming week, Epic Games Store has already announced to give away narrative adventure game The Lion's Song from developer/publisher Mi'pu'mi Games, which will become available to claim for free from May 13, 2021 onwards.
