Ever since a sequel to action-adventure game God of War (2018) has officially been announced during PlayStation 5 Showcase event, series fans are eagerly waiting for its release this year as one of the most anticipated games of 2021.
Despite initially having a 2021 release window, upcoming PlayStation 5-exclusive title God of War: Ragnarök might get delayed and is likely to be revealed by Sony Interactive Entertainment later this year, according to an industry insider.
Given how Santa Monica Studio has yet to finalize a title for God of War sequel while revealing gameplay and other details, many has already assumed that next God of War game is likely to be moved from its original launch window.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier claims on Twitter that God of War: Ragnarök was delayed internally months ago. Sony will eventually let everyone know about this unforeseen delay once they start revealing more information in detail.

Sony Interactive Entertainment currently has no major showcase event planned for this year to show what 2022 and beyond will be for PS5. Either they will talk about GoW: Ragnarök through State of Play or a summer event in near future.
Meanwhile, there are rumors of God of War 2018 reboot coming to on PC alongside a number of other first-part PlayStation-exclusive titles. Sony may very well be waiting to release it as a marketing push to promote GoW: Ragnarök.
