Final Fantasy 14: Endwalker Expansion Announced

In a previously scheduled Final Fantasy XIV Showcase event, developer/publisher Square Enix officially announces upcoming fourth expansion pack for massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV, titled Endwalker.

Delayed from its summer release window due to COVID-19 pandemic, FFXIV expansion is set to launch in fall 2021. Unable to celebrate annual Fan Festival events in person this year, Square Enix reveals a first-look at Endwalker expansion.

Endwalker is finally drawing an anticipated conclusion to Hydaelyn and Zodiark story arc while a new threat is slowly on the rise. Warriors of Light returns and is about to face an even greater challenge you saw in past than Shadowbringers.

Alisaie and Alphinaud show up briefly in the middle of an intense fight, the latter has most likely changed jobs for now. FFXIV protagonist has finally overcome his darkness and is seen wearing a shiny Paladin armor, stepping on the moon.

Veteran players would love to join right in as FFXIV adds a number of new jobs, adjustments to battle system and an increased level cap. Moreover, new Arkasodara tribe will be introduced and Trust system is back from Shadowbringers.

A new Alliance Raid series is coming to Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker that sends out 24 players after more than a few unique challenges. Old-school players with skills or groups can sign up for Pandæmonium for high-difficulty brutal raids.

Square Enix also confirms releasing a PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV, set to arrive in April 2021.

It's about time Square Enix releases Final Fantasy XIV Online for next-gen console and an Open Beta begins on April 13, 2021. Players can expect to get 4K resolution support, better loading times, improved frame rates and much more.

Those who already own a copy on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to PS5 version during Beta period for free. There will be a Free Trial for new players to join in and FFXIV Online full version will be available on PS5 at a later date when Beta ends.

Endwalker will explore areas within Hydaelyn and will expand upon new places as well, even on moon. Anyone seeking for some challenges can choose to look into several new dungeons with friends or on your own, accompanied by NPCs.

Square Enix will be hosting a digital Fan Festival in May and reveal further information on Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker DLC expansion. Interested fans can enjoy these stream events for free across online platforms from May 14-15, 2021.
