Resident Evil Showcase Event January 2021 Live Now

Ahead of Resident Evil 25th Anniversary event in March, developer/publisher Capcom unveils a lot of details on upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil: Village including exclusive demo, gameplay reveal, launch date and much more.

RE: Village will be releasing for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 7, 2021. Capcom offers a first-look at gameplay mechanics, multiplayer experience and a crossover with Tom Clancy's The Division 2.

Resident Evil latest digital event takes a deep dive into a next chapter of iconic survival horror and beyond.

Recent showcase begins with a brand-new trailer, teasing into plot premise of RE8 and marks an anticipated return of protagonist Ethan Winters, who sets foot into a mysterious village of Europe in quest to find his kidnapped daughter.

A towering lady named Lady Dimitrescu talks to someone named Mother Miranda explaining how Ethan escaped someone named "Heisenberg" and greets him to her gothic castle while being accompanied by three witch-like figures.

Ethan recalls talking to his wife Mia about something in past as he hears a distant voice stating about a castle bell heralding danger. Mother Miranda wants him for some secret ceremony and he is slowly uncovering some deadly secrets.

In a flashback scene, fan-favorite series lead Chris Redfield shows up for a brief moment holding Ethan and Mia's newborn child. Before fading into dark, an enigmatic persona in glasses and hat approaches Ethan, possibly to engage in a fight.

Standard and Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil: Village are already available for pre-order across all major platforms. Digital Deluxe Edition adds Mr. Raccoon Weapon Charm, Survival Resources and Trauma Pack in-game items to help you out.

There is a Collector's Edition for console versions that contains all contents from Digital Deluxe Edition as well as an artbook, clothed map, Chris Redfield figure, collector's box, official poster, steelbook case aside from RE: Village base game.

Just by pre-ordering any version of the game, you can get access to Mr. Racoon Weapon Charm and Survival Resource Pack digital items. Sony console owners will receive official soundtrack of Village by pre-ordering from PlayStation Store.

Though originally announced to release on next-gen consoles, Capcom has assured a cross-gen release of RE: Village. Newcomers can catch up with ongoing narrative by purchasing Biohazard Complete Bundle, includes Resident Evil 7 and 8.

Capcom continues to pursue a first-person perspective for latest installment of Resident Evil as expected and created a detailed world. Newly revealed gameplay footage for RE: Village shows off lead character Ethan Winters back in action.

A lot has changed in terms of combat since RE7: Biohazard and Ethan will take down variety of deadly enemies with distinct nature. He can either use any firearm at his disposal or choose to block any incoming attack to defend his own.

Resident Evil: Village takes a page out of Resident Evil 4, letting players to combine and create items like ammo and first aid. Inventory management has been made more accessible to keep more of your necessary tools, all at one place.

RE: Village follows signature gameplay style of its predecessor title but also brings back several elements of previous mainline games. Ethan can purchase and sell items, craft and customize weapons from a merchant known as "The Duke".

A free playable demo of upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil: Village has been rolled out exclusively for PlayStation 5 owners. Simply titled "The Maiden", players get to take a tour of Dimitrescu Castle in a standalone adventure.

Titular character of Maiden is not obviously Ethan and its story takes simultaneously alongside main story. This visual demo lets you explore around and some and puzzle solving but there is no option for combat or using any weapons.

In a surprise announcement, Capcom confirms a limited time crossover for cover-based shooter The Division 2 with developer Massive Entertainment, celebrating 25 years of Resident Evil with outfits and weapon skins from original trilogy.

Starting from February 2, fans can take part in Resident Evil 25th anniversary event that will run until February 15, 2021. Division agents are to receive caches full of themed cosmetic items like arm patches, Leon Kennedy outfit and more.

Several leaks about Resident Evil 8 enemy detail was apparently confirmed by latest Showcase event 2021. One particular being, a shadowy "female" enemy will be hunting down players out of nowhere and will go away if they are shot at.

Resident Evil: Village will let players upgrade their PlayStation 4 version to PlayStation 5 version for free of charge. Similarly, those who purchase a copy for Xbox One consoles to receive Smart Delivery support for Xbox Series X/S systems.
