Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo Confirmed to Be Timed PS5-Exclusive |
Prior to a shocking announcement of Microsoft buying Bethesda Softworks, an exclusivity deal was signed earlier by Sony Interactive Entertainment regarding two of the major releases next year; Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo.
In a latest showcase for upcoming PlayStation 5 titles set for 2021, Sony released a new advert video today, which actually confirms both of these anticipated games published by Bethesda to be timed PS5-exclusives for at least a year.
Sony is wrapping up 2020 in a new video, highlighting a number of scheduled PS5-exclusives for next year.
Latest promotional video from Sony teases release of Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, including already released PS5 titles like Demon's Souls Remake and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Neither of Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo will be arriving on other console platforms for next 12 months since PS5 release. Microsoft promises to keep any exclusivity deals that were signed before Bethesda buyout back in September.
Though fans of PlayStation platform can take a sigh of relief for now, Microsoft is much likely to capitalize on their recent acquisition. Future Bethesda titles are likely to be timed exclusives or prioritize Xbox consoles for performance.
Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo could very well be last possible Bethesda-exclusive to release on PlayStation 5 consoles. In future, you can expect games like Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI to arrive on Xbox Game Pass at launch day.
