After months of silence, developer/publisher Motion Twin announced to release a Christmas Update for roguelike Metroidvania action game Dead Cells during mid-December and revealed upcoming paid DLC expansion, Fatal Falls.
Motion Twin released an Alpha version of latest patch Update 21 weeks ago and last week, it has moved to Beta phase. Today, Dead Cells dev team made Christmas update fully available on PC platform ahead of holiday season 2020.
Due to request from fan-community, newest inclusion of weapons arms you with a Katana and thanks to a unique gameplay mechanics; you can combine a regular slash with a dashing charge for a fierce attack like a fierce Ninja warrior.
Another fan-inspired idea was to introduce a new mob called the Demolisher, who will carry an explosive crossbow to blast you from afar. You may bump into this big boy at Distillery and few other places as a substitute to Knife Thrower.
When it comes to Christmas-themed content, take a cue from official key-art and expect two new outfits. Titular update has reworked Malaise bar as it increases with game time instead of taking hit and you need to keep it at minimal.
Amidst somewhere with the castle, Hand of the King lore room has finally been added to offer a little backstory. Your nutritional chart currently has "Cheese Diet" in it and you can swap slices of Camembert or Gruyère for healing as well.
