Control Next-Gen Release Delayed to 2021
Remedy Entertainment announces delay for Control: Ultimate Edition on next-gen consoles until early 2021.
Earlier in August 2020, developer Remedy Entertainment and publisher 505 Games announced an Ultimate Edition for acclaimed 2019 action-adventure game Control across Windows PC, all current and next-generation consoles.
Remedy has took Twitter to reveal recently that they have delayed a previously planned holiday 2020 release window of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, which is currently expected to come out at some point in early 2021.

Remedy clarified their position by saying that they need more time to work on Ultimate Edition to deliver a better quality product. Although they are anticipating for an early 2021 launch, no official release date has been given yet.
As expected, some fans were seen venting their frustration in comment section for having to pay twice to get a next-gen upgrade even if someone bought it early, which is disappointing as they probably are among loyal customers.
Remedy Entertainment officially stated to delay release of Control: Ultimate Edition on social media today.
An update from the development team: Control Ultimate Edition will arrive on next generation platforms early 2021.

We want the final quality of the game to be awesome, and so we need a bit more time to work on it. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
Control: Ultimate Edition will include all post-launch contents, DLC expansion packs alongside base game. Only players who purchased a copy on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will receive free upgrade to next-gen console versions.
Remedy requiring more time to work on Control: Ultimate Edition is clearly understandable but 505 Games forcing players to shell out more money to buy next-gen upgrade path undoubtedly ruins a great experience for everyone.
