Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Announced
Nintendo announces Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for Switch, upcoming prequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Players are waiting for new updates on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel since its reveal during Nintendo Direct E3 2019 and there were rumors of its possible 2020 release even though no official release window was given.
In a surprise announcement, developer KOEI Tecmo Games and publisher Nintendo officially introduces upcoming hack and slash game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, scheduled to arrive on November 20, 2020, for Nintendo Switch.

Age of Calamity serves as a sequel to Hyrule Warriors and takes place a century before events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link will return to Hyrule and fight large group of corrupted Guardians across its various locations.
He will be joined by Princess Zelda and her four Champions; Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa in battle. Hyrule Warriors sequel adapts to similar visual style to BotW while exploring story of a major conflict, an event known as Great Calamity.

All races of Hyrule joined together in a struggle to thwart Calamity Ganon, which led them to a path of destruction. Link was heavily injured fighting corrupted Guardians and Zelda had to put him in hibernation before heading back to battle.
Aside from basic hack and slash, KOEI Tecmo said to have added other gameplay mechanics like crafting, environmental puzzle-solving, skill tree development, weapon-upgrade systems and use of Sheikah Slate item from Breath of the Wild.

Official trailer confirms that Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa will be playable alongside Link as well. TLoZ: Breath of the Wild version of Princess Zelda is finally going to be available in Age of Calamity just like original Hyrule Warriors.
Pre-order bonus for digital version includes a Lucky Ladle in-game item that Link can use as a weapon or equip it with a Pot Lid. This infamous soup spoon will give you special stat boost and can be sold separately as a paid content later.
