IO Interactive reveals that after parting ways with Square Enix, signing a timed-exclusivity deal with Epic Store for 12 months has allowed creative freedom needed to work on Hitman 3 and even let them self-publish the game to players.
Keeping players' interest in mind, IOI wanted to let people carry over in-game progression and unlocks from Steam version to Epic Games Store. Importing various locations to Hitman 3 from Hitman and Hitman 2 will also be possible on PC.

To welcome Agent 47 on their PC storefront, Epic Store will be offering first Hitman game from new trilogy in a free weekly giveaway. Players can claim a copy forever on August 27, 2020 and import all maps to Hitman 3 on release next year.
Hitman III will be releasing on early 2021 as a cross-gen title, simultaneously arriving on both current and next-gen consoles. Before moving on with Epic Games, dev team has teamed up with Warner Bros. Interactive to release Hitman 2.
