Regional prices for Horizon Zero Dawn pre-order has gone up on PC due to VPN abuse from first-world country.
Now that 2017 action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn is finally coming to PC via Epic Games Store and Steam, players who never played it are really excited to experience the former PlayStation 4-exclusive in August 2020.
However, pre-order price for Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition for Windows PC platform has radically increased in several countries due to many people trying to purchase their copies from different regions through VPN abuse.

In some select countries, players on PC enjoys a lesser price for digital games and people trying to purchase HZD from different regions have now caused regional price to gone up significantly in Argentina, China, Brazil, Mexico and Russia.
Recently shared in threads on ResetEra and Reddit, players from affected countries decided to address this important issue and detailed how such practice from people in rich countries can actually hurt others from less fortunate territories.

When pre-order for Horizon Zero Dawn became available on Steam, it was originally priced 539 pesos in Argentina, an equivalent of $7.62. Within next 24 hours or so, that price point has reached to 2100 pesos, which equals to $93.82.
Argentina and many other countries face high inflation numbers every year, making hardware more expensive than Western territories. Only good thing they have in terms of gaming is competent regional prices that people are abusing now.

Many people lining up to buy the game cheap using VPN has apparently encouraged Sony to shot up its overall retail price. Whereas prices are drastically raised in Argentina by 289%, there was a 357% increase in Turkey and 301% for Russia.
