Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gameplay Overview

Ubisoft brings back hidden blade and stealth elements in latest gameplay overview of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Focusing on a holiday 2020 release window, developer/publisher Ubisoft is working hard on upcoming action role-playing game Assassin's Creed Valhalla and planning to showcase its gameplay aspects at Ubisoft Forward event.

Revealed earlier from a now-deleted post on official Instagram account, AC Valhalla is set to arrive on November 17, 2020. Ubisoft has unveiled extensive first-look at gameplay elements with in-depth commentary from ACV dev team.

Ubisoft has detailed features such as Raids and a reworked combat system of Valhalla in new gameplay overview.

AC Valhalla takes place in an alternate history in ninth century depicting Viking invasion of Britain, England. Valhalla lets players assume the role of fierce Viking raider protagonist Eivor as both male and female to follow an epic journey.

Eivor turns up on British lands from Norway alongside his/her fellow clan members in hopes to find a new home. These warriors are here to build a settlement of their own and would often set off to Raid blowing their massive war horn.

As a member of Raven clan, Eivor shall lead his/her people into hostile territory riding on a Longship and charging into battle, you crew will help you in Raids, fight enemies, breaking down gates and loot cargo full of riches for resource.

Whatever supplies you have managed to gather is better spent on building your community for better services and useful tools. There is an alliance map amidst your settlement that points out current allies and possibilities of future alliances.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla assembles a wide-array of unique enemies that present you with different typed of challenges. In an era of legendary warriors, you would come across many known archetypes during your playthrough.

Eivor is well-versed in traditional combat, able to take down enemies with weapons like Viking harpoon, throwing axes or incapacitate them using newest Stun system from distance before killing off with a series of brutal killing techniques.

Assassin's Creed was originally introduced as a franchise focused on stealth and therefore, going back to roots required for Valhalla to bring back elements as blending into crowds or stalking your opponents and iconic hidden blade.

Over the later years, its combat mechanics have evolved and Ubisoft has taken inspiration from franchises like The Witcher for modern AC titles. Assassin's Creed Origins was a beginning for action RPG approach and stealth got sidelined.

Based on your preference, Eivor can dual-wield any two combination of weapons or shields and become a force of reckoning in a fight. Customize your combat style to craft a unique way of fighting and become unstoppable against enemies.

Viking warrior Eivor is seen walking into a locality and put on the hood for cover instead of wielding his/her dual axes. You can sit somewhere nearby and pay close attention to people's conversation to get some crucial information.

Since hidden blade (as shown in ACV Premiere Trailer) is back, social stealth is returning to series as well. Latest gameplay overview trailer shows that guards will be patrolling streets once again and Eivor should keep his/her eyes on them.

Those who played Assassin's Creed Odyssey probably prefer more start kicking their opponents and Valhalla even has room for that. Take some time off to explore lands, hunt animals, play drinking games and scavenge for treasures.

Discovering pagan temples and Roman ruins will hand you out new activities and challenges to uncover dark secrets. Call upon your Jomsviking, clan members when tasked with a Raid and command them to an intense battle alongside you.

Valhalla offers large scale Assaults against factions that are very similar to Conquest Battles from Odyssey. Unleash your brethren onto enemy forces and try feeling the joy of working together with your tribe to accomplish major goals.

Ubisoft released a 30-minute long gameplay walkthrough for Valhalla led by quest director, Philippe Bergeron.

It was revealed earlier that players will be able to customize Eivor with cosmetic clothing, gear, tattoos, war paint and etc. You are also allowed to share uniquely customized mercenary Viking character among friends online for Raids later.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming to Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. People who will purchase ACV on current-gen console will get free update to next-gen version using Smart Delivery feature.
