Star Wars: Squadrons Release Date
EA announces starship dogfighter title Star Wars: Squadrons for PC and current-gen, coming out on October 2.
Originally leaked at PlayStation Network in back March, upcoming single-player action game Star Wars: Squadrons came out as next adventure into Star Wars universe from developer Motive Studios and publisher Electronic Arts.
After an official announcement a few days ago, SW: Squadrons has been revealed today at Summer Game Fest stream hosted by Geoff Keighley, currently scheduled to arrive on October 2, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Taking place during the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, story of Squadrons will take place after Battle of Endor and destruction of second Death Star, where two groups of pilots from New Republic and Galatic Empire will collide.
SW: Squadrons is available for pre-order now on PC and current-gen console systems, priced $39.99 only. EA and Motive is very much likely to release an enhanced port of the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in near future.

Players can jump onto their TIE-Fighters or X-Wings to engage in first-person dogfighting alongside your fellow pilots. Gameplay mechanics for Squadrons solely focuses on starship piloting, which supports cross-platform play.
Aside from a single-player story mode, there is a 5v5 multiplayer for two group of players going against each other. Plan your strategies thoroughly and chose your preferred cockpit from a variety of ships like an A-wing to TIE bomber.

Previously known as Project Maverick, Squadrons is a spin-off game to Star Wars Battlefront II that took some inspiration from space battle simulation of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and '90s popular series entry Star Wars: X-Wing.
Star Wars: Squadrons will allow players on PC platform and PS4 console with VR headsets to enjoy its spectacular action in virtual reality. Windows PC version of SW: Squadrons will be available via Epic Games Store, Origin and Steam.
