Star Wars: Squadrons Announced
EA Motive announces rumored Project Maverick to be new starfighter combat game Star Wars: Squadrons.
Back in February, a leaked image at PlayStation Network has revealed upcoming Star Wars game titled "Project Maverick", which publisher Electronic Arts said nothing about and they simply that image from PSN afterwards.
Shortly after getting leaked on official Xbox website earlier today, developer EA Motive has finally announced their latest venture Star Wars: Squadrons, scheduled for a reveal at EA Play 2020 on June 15, 8:00 AM PT/11:00 AM EDT.

Squadrons will be a multiplayer focused title that also features a single-player campaign, similar to Star Wars Battlefront II by EA Dice. Players would engage in aerial combat on space, piloting iconic star ships from Star Wars franchise.
Many have originally predicted that Project Maverick will get a showcase at recent PlayStation 5 Reveal Event but that never happened and it took another leak at Xbox website when EA Motive finally decided to offer an early peek.

Reportedly a Battlefront II spin-off game, SW: Squadrons centers its gameplay aspects on interstellar combat and spacecrafts piloting without allowing players to run and gun, which is somewhat similar to Starfighter Assault mode.
EA and Motive has probably taken inspiration from Rogue Squadron series from GameCube and Nintendo 64 era for Star Wars: Squadrons while also planning to take future Star Wars games in a new direction away from their previous titles.
