Sony reveals The Last of Us 2 has sold over 4 million copies and becomes fastest-selling PS4-exclusive title ever.
Despite receiving widespread acclaim from critics, PlayStation 4-exclusive action-adventure title The Last of Us Part II by developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment didn't sit quite well with majority of fans.
However, Sony reveals in a recent report that The Last of Us 2 has now becomes the fastest-selling first-party PS4-exclusive ever by selling over 4 million copies by June 21, in just three days after its official release on June 19, 2020.

Naughty Dog just reached their first milestone for one of their biggest project in years, which is surrounded in controversy. TLOU2 game director Neil Druckmann has expressed his gratitude to millions of fans who played the game lately.
Although angry fans are venting frustration with memes and rants on dedicated sub-Reddit for The Last of Us Part 2, none of that negativity has affected sales in any way because there are many who are not aware of its "Leaked Story" yet.

The Last of Us first game has sold over 17 million copies across PlayStation 3 and 4 by April 2018. Given how amazing its predecessor title was in terms of both gameplay and narrative, success of its 2020 sequel was almost guaranteed.
Naughty Dog and Sony were almost certain of strong sales numbers for The Last of Us Part II. Most common complaints of many players are poor treatment of series protagonist Joel and a lousy story direction with new character Abby.
