NetherRealm Studios announces paid DLC expansion Aftermath for Mortal Kombat 11, coming May 26.
A year after releasing 2.5D fighting game Mortal Kombat 11, developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is finally ready to explore next chapter of through additional post-launch DLC content.
After a brief tease for release of an upcoming paid expansion, NetherRealm has announced Aftermath DLC today featuring brand-new cinematic story, new fighter characters and skin packs, set to arrive on May 26 for all platforms.

Story mode for Mortal Kombat 11 leads to collision of many different timelines due to intervention from Kronika, keeper of time. Raiden merges with revenant form of Liu Kang, becoming Fire God Liu Kang to thwart her evil plan.
After she is defeated in battle, Liu Kang gains control over sands of time and intends to restore history alongside a now-mortal Raiden. From here on, MK11 story expansion Aftermath kick-starts with a new twist that no one has foreseen.

Before they could precede, Fujin, Nightwolf and Shang Tsung show up from a portal warning him to stop. Kept as Kronika's prisoners, they are freed upon her demise and now came to warn Liu Kang before he unknowingly dooms everyone.
During his fight with Kronika, her Crown of Souls was shattered by Liu Kang and an attempt to restart history without it will destroy her Hourglass and all reality as well unless they retrieve it from Shang Tsung's island before she can take it.

A recurring villain and sub-boss in Mortal Kombat history; Shang Tsung has made a surprise return for Kombat Pack DLC and reprised by actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who portrayed the character in 1995 live-action Mortal Kombat movie.
Newest addition of Kombatants includes returning character Fujin, who is God of Wind wielding a signature crossbow and sword. Making his debut in Mortal Kombat 4, he can walk on and command air to use it against his rivals in a fight.

Also joining in latest roster is Sheeva, a multilimbed Shokan warrior of pure brute force to decimate her opponents, followed by iconic cybernetic police officer, Alex Murphy AKA Robocop from a dystopian futuristic Detroit City.
Similar to Hiroyuki Tagawa, actor Peter Weller (Dexter, Sons of Anarchy) is reviving his character from 1987 action film RoboCop. All three newly revealed DLC fighters will be part of next Kombat Pack instead of individual release.

In a free update on Aftermath DLC release, Mortal Kombat 11 players will receive four new stages; Dead Pool, Kronika's Keep, RetroKade and Soul Chamber. NetherRealm dev team is bringing back Friendships and Stage Fatalities.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath story DLC is priced $39.99 only, bundled with Kombat Pack 2 characters and currently available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to get Eternal Klash skin pack as bonus.
