Streets of Rage 4 Release Date, Battle Mode Revealed
DotEmu has announced Streets of Rage 4 to release on April 30 and Battle Mode revealed in a new trailer.
It took 26 years for classic beat 'em up series Streets of Rage to make a glorious come back through its upcoming sequel Streets of Rage 4 by developer DotEmu, Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube, teaming up with publisher Sega.
DotEmu has announced an official release date of SoR4 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms on April 30, 2020 and much-anticipated return of fan-favorite Battle Mode in a brand-new trailer weeks before launch.

Battle Mode is a friendly competitive mode for players to engage in brawl of might and skills with up to three friends, which is a great way to find out which one of these brawlers are most powerful and best suited to your playstyle.
You pick one of your favorite characters and duke it out with rival players over many different locations. Battle Mode is a perfect testing ground for practice your special moves and to find out who is the finest fighter of Wood Oak City.

Available at launch, Battle Mode offers you an expanded roster of fighters including the ones from retro years, once you unlock them. Almost every known Streets of Rage characters are brought back with shiny pixel-art makeover.
In addition, you can choose from two soundtracks while playing SoR4, anytime you want in-game. You can either tune into an all-new set of composed tracks or try to find your right jam in a mix of Streets of Rage 1 and 2 soundtracks.

Dev team was playing with sprites from early games in Streets of Rage saga and incorporated them into Guard Crush engine. Overall animations for newest SoR installment were done from ground up for each frame, hitbox and timing.
