Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One Version to Get Free Xbox Series X Upgrade
CD Projekt Red will use Smart Delivery feature of Xbox Series X to offer free upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One.
After an unexpected delay of release earlier this year, developer/publisher CD Projekt Red is currently prepping up for their hotly anticipated role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 for all major platforms on 17 September, 2020.
In light of major reveal of upcoming Xbox Series X specs by Microsoft most recently, CDPR has announced that players who purchase CP2077 on Xbox One console will get free upgrade for next-gen console version following release.

Earlier today, Microsoft has announced highlights and specs for Series X to include a Smart Delivery feature, a technology that let players access any game from four generations of consoles using backwards compatibility.
It will allow people to buy a game only once and then getting to play the right version of that game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X. Microsoft will apply this feature for all of Xbox Game Studios releases and let developers to join as well.

CD Projekt Red was first to respond to this and announce to deliver a free version of Cyberpunk 2077 for Series X console to owners of Xbox version copy, adding any or every performance and technical improvements if required.
Since there was no obligation or whatsoever for CDPR to do so and yet they willingly choose to put gamers first. This pro-customer move is a step towards right direction for video game industry and received immense praise on social media.

While Xbox users cheers over this great news, PlayStation 4 owners are wondering whether they are going to get the same treatment or not but CD Projekt Red probably would reveal their plan after Sony confirms PlayStation 5 specs.
