Valve Index VR Sold Out After Alyx Reveal
Following announcement of Half-Life: Alyx, most packages of Valve Index VR headset are sold out in some regions.
After much long waiting, players eventually got confirmation of a new Half-Life release recently that turns out to be prequel game titled Half-Life: Alyx, a flagship VR game by publisher Valve Corporation set for launch next year.
Though it is not the most-anticipated Half-Life 3, fans are still excited to get back to City 17 and following official reveal of Alyx, a spike in sales of Valve Index VR headsets have led to stock shortages in stores of some regions.

According to report from Road to VR, Valve Index VR Headsets have suddenly seen increased number of sales throughout North America after Half-Life: Alyx was announced lately on 21st anniversary celebration of HL series.
In many store in Canada and U.S. different packages of Index virtual reality device is now listed as out of stock. It is highly likely that die-hard fans from select regions have rushed to stores in advance while units are still available in other countries.

Aside from Valve Index headsets, upcoming Half-Life prequel game will be work with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest and Windows Mixed Reality. Index owners however, will receive a free copy of the game with some exclusive content.
In general, any VR device that runs compatibly with PC is good enough as Valve didn't place any platform exclusivity for players but having extra content on Index as bonus makes it a better choice for loyal fans and new customers.

In terms of both mainline or spin-off titles, Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the most recent entry in series that came out in 2007 and after a long hiatus, Valve is making a comeback in 2020 with a VR prequel that took place between events of first two games.
