CoD: MW multiplayer mode Special Ops is comprised of a couple of interconnected Operations where you will form four-player strike teams to take down a threat from Eastern Hemisphere and complete multiple objectives as well.
In order to complete these team-based missions, players can either take a stealthy approach or go all guns blazing if they want. Throughout a wide variety of maps, Operations would offer the most involved activities and experiences.

You and your team would engage Al-Qatala army in the city of Verdansk and destroy their detailed coordinates. Primarily, four multi-stage Operations would be available at release and progress would carry over to multiplayer modes.
You are also free to hop on an ATV, helicopter, tank or any other vehicles necessary for your tactics to succeed. Though players are free to make calculated moves, enemy A.I. will react accordingly and thus, may change the tide of battle.

One of the biggest reasons for MW craze among fans is cross-play support, which is the first ever in entire CoD franchise. That excitement has faded soon for Spec Ops Survival mode as it would remain a PS4-exclusive feature for a full year.
Despite Infinity Ward denying any timed exclusivity content for Sony consoles, it was later revealed that above-mentioned multiplayer mode in fact is not coming to PC and Xbox One platforms before October 1, 2020 at all.

However, this move shouldn't come to players as a surprise considering PS4 players got their hands on Beta program ahead of others, establishing the fact that people who own Sony consoles would get more than just Day 1 advantage.
Activision reportedly got a large number of pre-order cancelled for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare over Survival mode timed exclusivity but is still keeping up because it is too late now for any renegotiation of their contract with Sony.
