Gears 5 Campaign and Horde Mode Revealed
The Coalition revealed campaign story and wave-based Horde mode for Gears 5 at opening night live of Gamescom 2019.
In a few weeks, upcoming third-person shooter game Gears 5 from developer studio The Coalition and publisher Xbox Game Studios will see worldwide launch on September 10, 2019 for PC via Steam and Xbox One platforms.
Back in at E3 2019, development team promised to reveal Horde mode during Gamescom 2019 and today, much more are coming. Since story of the game is focused on protagonist Kait Diaz, what better way to start without campaign trailer?

For long, Kait has been struggling to understand her mysterious connection with their enemy and so, she took on a personal journey to Sera. As she already is haunted by a dark vision, her squad struggles to fight oncoming Swarms.
Another terrifying enemy called Swarm Leeches shows up in full-appearance to display their ability to chew through metal armor. "Head like a Hole" by Nine Inch Nails play in background score while Kait having flashback to dark past.

As promised by developers earlier, Horde mode saw official reveal today during Gamescom 2019 event.

Iconic multiplayer mode from Gears of War series, Horde is back and it has evolved for better by focusing onto a character-based gameplay mechanics that offers unique legacy, personality, play style and progression for each one.
This five-player mode features Ultimate abilities for each playable-character such as JD calling for air strikes, Kait can use a cloak to go beyond enemy lines and take them out or X-ray vision that lets Fahz see targets through walls.

Horde mode will require you to use all of these abilities to survive and even allows you play as flying support bot, Jack. Playing with him is unlike any other Gears heroes since he doesn't need any cover and can heal players nearby.
Also, he can make enemies fight each other by using his ability to hijack one of them and that makes him really useful in battle. Newly added Power Taps mechanic will let players to move around bases for power and rewards.

Then in a surprise addition, Halo: Reach character pack is unveiled to debut valiant Spartans into world of Gears.

From Xbox briefing event at E3 2019, we learned that Gears 5 will be having a crossover with upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate live-action movie but for Coalition studio head Rod Ferguson, that simply wasn't big enough for upcoming title.
So, he decided to call in for Halo: Reach from another fan-favorite game franchise of Microsoft Studios to join them in their upcoming Locust hunt. Spartans Emile-A239 and Kat-B320 from Noble Team are joining Gears heroes in battle soon.

Both Emile and Kat will have their very own Ultimate abilities in Horde mode just like any other playable characters. Players can also access them in other available modes of the upcoming cover-based shooter, including Escape.
Halo: Reach character pack comes exclusively with Ultimate Edition of the game or a subscription to Game Pass Ultimate. This might not be the exact crossover that Xbox players have asked for but are getting anyways.

There are a wide range of Reach-themed cosmetics like skin, banner, blood Spray, mark and even weapon set for Jack. A recent collaboration with clothing line A Bathing Ape brings more exclusive items such as Red Camo banner and Moonface mark.
Dropping on September 6, Gears 5 x AAPE Customization pack will feature character skin for Kait Diaz that comes in Blue Camo hoodie, Black Camo weapon set and other cosmetics like AAPE banner, blood Spray and Moonface mark.
