Animal Crossing: New Horizons Delayed to March 2020
Nintendo delays Animal Crossing: New Horizons to March 2020 release window to avoid crunch-time for developers.
Among all major presentation at E3 2019 event, Nintendo Direct showcase had some of the most amazing moments for fans including an official announcement for upcoming open-ended life simulation game Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
However, no sooner has it been showed to viewers by developer/publisher Nintendo now delayed the Nintendo Switch-exclusive to spring next year from holiday season of 2019 so that dev team can have a proper work-life balance.

When Nintendo took E3 stage to world premiere a brand-new trailer for the most-anticipated series entry, it was everything fans ever wanted and was planned to launch later in 2019 but then a gameplay reveal trailer revealed the sudden delay.
To spare some elbow grease for development team, New Horizons project is now pushed back to March 20, 2020. Yoshiaki Koizumi offered his sincerest apology on everyone's behalf for moving their original release window.

Video game industry often has their employees overwork just so a scheduled product could be shipped in time. This unpopular yet commonly known practice is termed as crunch these days and seems like Nintendo is taking a stand against it.
Current president and COO for Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser believes New Horizons could be out by holiday season 2019 if they invested extra work hours but they ultimately opted out just so their employees can have good work life balance.

It took seven years for a mainline Animal Crossing game to be announced other than a few spin-off titles coming out for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and mobile devices, which now will have fans wait a little longer to spare its developers some crunch.
Though some fans would still be disappointed for this unforeseen delay, most are happy to wait few more months to get their hands on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, because it would eventually be a better experience for everyone.
