Image Comics' Spawn May Appear In Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat 11 is returning to the skull-crushing, blood-soaked glory of the series in 2019 and artist Todd McFarlane hints Spawn might be in it.
After taking a long, hard way from E3 2018 to the nearing end of the year, developer NetherRealm Studios revealed upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 from their decades old fighting game series Mortal Kombat at The Game Awards 2018 event.
The official reveal trailer already gave us the showoff between Raiden and Scorpion. In fact, there might be different versions of them. Recently, veteran comic-book creator Todd McFarlane (Haunt, Venom) hinted that his popular creation Spawn might even join in.

The titular franchise has started its journey back in 1992 and released more than twenty games so far. McFarlane also created Spawn in the same year for Image Comics and it has grown a distinct identity within the comic book community.
Aside from his indie works, he served as an artist for Marvel Comics and during his stint on Spider-Man ongoing series; he co-created a villain character with David Michelinie for the hero named Venom, who became an immensely popular anti-hero.

While doing an AMA on Reddit in anticipation for the Blu-ray and DVD release of the Venom live-action movie, McFarlane teased possibility of the arrival of his creation into the mix of MK warriors.

As he joined the discussion, a member of the social news site asks him if he would let Spawn be in Mortal Kombat 11 and he responded by saying, "I believe he's on his way...", which is the closest we can get as a confirmation at this point.
Previously, the series included popular characters from horror movies like Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, Predator and Xenomorph to the roster. On that note, bringing Spawn on board will not make things weird at all.

Todd McFarlane is going to make his directorial debut with upcoming Spawn live-action feature film that will start filming on 2019 and MK11 launching on April 23, 2019 is a nice way for advance tie-in before the character hits the theater.
Though details regarding the playable character list are scarce, we know Raiden, Scorpion and Shao Kahn are returning with a mysterious new character for Mortal Kombat 11, which could be the fictional antihero we are talking about and we can only weigh in on that after the public reveal event on January 17.
