A bunch of new content has been added to the game including new weapons and gameplay items to use. For starter, Zedhunter has introduced eight different types of crossbows, an iconic zombie-slaying weapon that is silent and deadly.
This could be a game changer as you don't need to get close to have a killshot at the Zeds and risk your health or even make noise using a firearm that would eventually bring more of them. So, you can easily score more headshots than before without breaking a sweat.

One of the best things about these crossbow bolts are that players can also recover them after making a shot. So, you can become an eco-friendly zombie hunter and reduce noise pollution at the same time. Plus, they don't break or jam like traditional guns.
Aside from this long-range shooter, three new melee and three new close-combat weapons are added to your arsenal to give you a better fighting chance against a horde of zombies. Just pick up from a stash of swords and knives to chop off the deadmeats.

Zedhunter update also offer further customization options that allows one to reset the core skill specializations of a survivor. For example, if you simply want to switch your Cardio from Marathon to Backpacking, you just read a new training manual and then just change the skill specialty.
However, the downside of this trade-off is that players will gain experience at a slower rate than usual for this new skill. Six new "quirk skills" are added to give you extra buff to favor your community and get these skill books from the local Skills Trader in town.

In addition to gameplay, the SoD2 free update adds three new plague consumables to boost your survivor abilities. These are highly potent and increase your abilities to see in the dark or make you invisible to zeds and even attract them in some cases.
Since they are basically poison to human survivors, it is up to you whether the infection is worth swapping for some perks. Also, new achievements and missions are added for you to notice them labeled as "Mysterious" during a quest.

If all of these excite you but unfortunately, you don't own a copy of State of Decay 2 yet then jumping on board right now is the perfect time as Xbox Black Friday Sale offers a 35% off on the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition of SoD2 or sign up to Xbox Game Pass for just $1 only for the first month.
Undead Labs was downright committed to the State of Decay fan base to offer them the experience of ultimate zombie survival fantasy and Zedhunter free update is a step towards that direction. In 2019, the studio will bring back Trumbull Valley map and new difficulty settings.
