Diablo 3 Confirmed for Nintendo Switch

Blizzard and Nintendo finally came out officially announcing Diablo III port for Switch at long last.

It all started with a single cryptic Tweet from official Twitter account of Blizzard Entertainment of a nightlight shaped as Diablo, the Lord of Terror and everyone lost their mind guessing one of the most exciting dungeon crawler action RPG game of all-time, Diablo III is headed towards the next gen handheld console Nintendo Switch. Less than a day ago, Forbes published an article on it but then deleted. Now, Blizzard has finally opened up and officially confirmed the game for Switch today.

We know by now that the Switch version is called the 'Eternal Collection' and it will cost you $59.99. It comes with Reaper of Souls expansion pack and Rise of the Necromancer DLC alongside all other contents like challenge rifts and zones from the original title. To be honest, we really are not surprised at this news because most of the information they revealed in the trailer are already known to us, thank to that early leak but we surely enjoyed Reggie showing up for the announcement.

Whether you want to explore the game solo or with friends, Blizzard got it covered and supports up to four player joining a game though online or local multiplayer mode. Everything that comes within the collection such as different adventure modes, seven playable character classes and themed season will be unlocked from the start. A very special The Legend of Zelda-themed Nintendo exclusive cosmetic armor set Legend of Ganondorf is also added as in-game bonus to this port.

Not that developer/publisher studio Blizzard Entertainment didn't take any attempt to contain the news of Diablo III coming to Switch from spreading much aside from teasing back in March but then again, big companies tease a little and the internet eventually figure things out by legion of dedicated fans mothballing ideas into something meaningful, which most of the time turns out to be legit. So, getting a port for the genre-defining action RPG title is a huge win for Switch owners.
