Resident Evil 2 Remake Won't Have Switch Release
Development team of Resident Evil 2 Remake project currently has no plan for a Nintendo Switch version.
During E3 2018 press conference, the news of Resident Evil 2 Remake made the most amount of buzz to horror fans as their dream of a remake of original RE2 is finally coming true. We know now that Capcom will use some deleted concepts and old character design, while getting rid of the zapping system for good.
Though the game is announced to launch on January 25, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, a Nintendo Switch port is not happening at the same time.

Unfortunately, developers have decided to opt out from bringing the survival horror classic to next generation of Nintendo console just yet. They have moved ahead with time by upgrading graphics to top-notch level, which might be a herculean task to port for Switch.
Although, first-person shooter games like Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus from Bethesda Softworks has already made their way to Switch, Capcom may just sit this one down for this instance.

Recently, brand manager Mike Lunn of Capcom has set the record straight for any rumor there was for RE2 Remake heading towards Switch by saying:

He also admitted that, their team has given that idea a thought during development but then debunked for the time being. When it comes to competition, Nintendo is one of the biggest rivals for Microsoft and Sony to release third-party titles.
Besides, Resident Evil: Revelations and RE: Revelations 2 are already ported to the portable platform of the company. This year, Resident Evil 7 has also debuted on the same port in cloud form, giving a logical hint for RE2 to do the same.

However, not for a single time Capcom has gone on record saying that they will never port the game to Nintendo Switch. In fact, they completely not denying the possibly actually suggests that when they clear up the current commitment to remake project of Resident Evil 2, they might get on board Switch train and that is not before 2019 of course.
Meaning, Switch owners will not be exploring a Raccoon City overrun by zombies as rooky cop Leon Kennedy or college student Claire Redfield anytime soon.
