DayZ Leaving Early Access in 2018
Developer Bohemia Interactive's open world survival video game DayZ has been in Early Access on Steam from 2013 and it has actually helped shape the popular Battle Royale game mode these days. For four years it is on early alpha testing and now, finally the game is leaving Steam Early Access on 2018. That means, DayZ will see a full-game release next year and Bohemia also confirmed that the game will also see its console release on the same year.
Although the developers expected to ship the game back in 2015 but couldn't make it but looks like they mean serious business this time. DayZ's Early Access period is not only one of the longest in the gaming history but also one of the most exhausting too. However, through a recent Blog Post, they have made known that since 2017 is an impossible target to reach, they will accomplish the goal next year.
DayZ was meant to be for PC in the beginning but now we know that Bohemia is thinking of entering the world of consoles too, which by the way is a great initiative for the game. Initially, the game will be ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but as the PS4 version still needs work to be done, we still have to wait for some solid dates on that as Bohemia Interactive works on fixing that in the mean time.
Considering another open world survival game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds heading to Xbox One, these steps are pretty huge for the studio. While the Beta and update 0.63 will turn into version 1.0 or a full game, it surely will not be the final product. Because, they are being realistic here and they simply lack the support they need for it right now.
The fast-paced gameplay and the thrill of survival are the key-elements which got the players hooked to DayZ. This experience comes in effect after hours of playing but on the other hand, modern day phenomenon like Fortnite or PUBG will make your heart racing with that feeling in a much shorter time. Nevertheless, DayZ is a game of its own right and it's nice that Bohemia is finally getting there. Now it sure is the time to get hyped for the community of gamers who are a fan of the game.
