Star Wars Battlefront II Single Player Story Scene
In the Star Wars universe, Emperor Palpatine was more than just a sweet-talking tyrant ruler. He is better known for his skillful manipulation and strategic mastermind against the rebel army. His rule was finally met an end at the hand of his greatest disciple Darth Vader as we saw in Return of the Jedi. However, in EA's upcoming release Star Wars Battlefront II, we are led to believe that Palpatine is somehow still around.
In the Official Gameplay Trailer released at E3 on June 10th, we were treated with some awesome in-game moments from Star Wars Battlefront II. Just before the ending, we received a brief glimpse of Emperor Sheev Palpatine in a red garb and couldn't help but wonder if the Sith Lord is really alive.

Since the release of Battlefront II is approaching, EA is being generous and revealing more and more details about the game. In a latest released clip for the game's single-player story, The Emperor finally shows up and we finally got to know the reason of his return.
As Battlefront II is meant to establish a connection between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, we finally receive a closer look at this new avatar of Emperor Palpatine, which by the way is a drone called Sentinel. The concept of this Sentinel drone was first introduced in 2015's Shattered Empire comics by writer Greg Rucka (Superman – World of New Krypton, Wonder Woman – The Hiketeia) and artist Marco Checchetto (Daredevil, Punisher).
Like every other sinister masterminds, he has foreseen the events of his demise and created these messenger drones as contingencies to make sure that his death doesn't mean the end of the Empire. Even after his demise, Palpatine holds control over the officers of the Imperial army to exact revenge on the rebellion. Projecting Palpatine's dread visage in hologram, the messengers deliver The Emperor's order in form of pre-recorded messages.
In this clip, the messenger of The Emperor delivers a task to carry out Operation: Cinder as his revenge to his trusty Admiral Garrick Versio of the Imperial army and his daughter Iden Versio of Inferno Squad. After the message is delivered, Admiral Versio sends commander Iden to an “unusual” mission, none of which is revealed yet.
We surely can learn more in details about Iden's mission while she will be accompanied by her teammates Del and Hask when the Battlefront II multiplayer beta hits us all on October 6 but you can get your hands on the beta October 4 if you pre-order.
November 17 marks the release of Star Wars Battlefront II on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Also, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be out on December 15. So, if you are a Star Wars fan, we believe you cannot afford to miss either one of them.
